If you are interested in French cooking you will be pleased to know you don't need to travel to France to experience the best. We have a part of France right on our doorstep - New Caledonia. Less than three hours' flight from Auckland, this group of islands is under French governance. With a unique combination of French and Pacific culture, you'll find many of the things that make French cuisine so great right there.

A unique opportunity to savor the best of New Caledonia's French food and cooking is a Gourmet Food Tour departing from Auckland on March 17. This five-day tour is hosted by well-known food writer Grant Allen and will include private dinners, cooking demonstrations and tastings with some of New Caledonia's leading French chefs and food personalities. It will be based in Noumea, New Caledonia's capital and gastronomic center.

It should be a great experience. For more information contact wendy@artoftravel.co.nz.
